I am an Associate Professor of the Department of Anthropology and the Director of Undergraduate Program Studies in Social Sciences for the Institute of Philosophy and Humanities of the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP, Sao Paulo, Brazil) and a research productivity scholar at CNPq.
I got my PhD at the Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE-IUL) in 2006, and a post-doctoral position at Museu Nacional of the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro in 2007 and 2008.
My research interests include the anthropology of policing, state and private security, and urban studies in Portugal and Brazil. I am conducting research about the complex formats and social imagination around private and plural policing in Sao Paulo (Brazil).
